FOUNDATION STONE LAYING CEREMONY OF PAO (ORs) RAJPUTANA RIFLES REGIMENTAL CENTRE, DELHI CANTT
The Foundation stone for construction of office building for PAO (ORs) Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre, Delhi Cantt. was laid by Chief Guest Dr. Ajay Kumar, IAS, Defence Secretary on 19.03.2020. Shri Sanjiv Mittal, IDAS, CGDA, Maj Gen Alok Kacker, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area, Brig. RP Singh, Comdt. RRRC, Senior IDAS Officers, Army Officers and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
The Defence Secretary while speaking on the occasion congratulated the CGDA and all the officers and staff of DAD who continue to work relentlessly in the service of the nation. He also congratulated the stake holders that would be the personnel of RRRC for whom this building intends to benefit. Defence Secretary applauded the efforts and measures taken by the department to move forward ahead on a progressive path by envisaging the vision 2024 for the department. This would usher a new era and make DAD more efficient and will help it imparting its role more efficiently. He also appreciated the digital initiatives taken by the Deptt and automating its activities in various areas of work.
In his address, CGDA expressed his happiness that this Pay and Accounts Office has set high standards in all areas of its work and try to take this organization to even greater heights by providing its best services in audit and accounting area besides other important areas of work.
CGDA further highlighted the initiatives taken by Defence Accounts Department to encourage e-payments, wherein online payments through SBI-CMP has been introduced for payments in AO GEs, SBI-CMP for ECHS payments and Direct Bank Transfer for pay & allowances in respect of Defence Civilians in line with Digital India Theme.
The proposed office building of PAO(ORs) Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre, Delhi Cantt, is being constructed by MES at a sanctioned cost of Rs. 4.69 Crores and is expected to be completed by September, 2021.
