Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board, DOPT, New Delhi organized the Inter Ministry Womens ´Athletics Tournament 2019 and Inter Ministry Womens´ Hockey Tournament 2019 at New Delhi during December 2019. The Hockey team of Ministry of Defence comprising entirely of the sportswomen from the Defence Accounts Department participated for the first time in the Tournament and were awarded Runner-up trophy and MoD Women Athletics team also were awarded Runner-up trophy for the Athletics event. In the individual category, Mrs. N Kumutha, AAO from O/o PIFA(Navy), won Gold medal in Javelin throw. Ms. Renu Rai from O/o PCDA(R&D), won Gold in 100 mts race and long jump. In team category, DAD team won Silver in 4*100 mts Relay race and 4*100 mts mixed Relay race. Ms. Renu Rai was awarded the best Hockey player of the tournament. A joint felicitation ceremony for teams of both the tournaments was organised at CGDA Hqrs. on 07th Jan 2020. Team captain handed over the championship trophy to the Chairperson DASCB & CGDA, Sh. Sanjiv Mittal. CGDA congratulated the team for their performance and encouraged the morale of the players for further participation in such sports events and bring laurels to the Department.
